So awesome and FLEXIBLE
This is so elegantly designed. You can use it for almost anything related to hierarchical text structures. Once you start learning the various features and options, you keep finding new ways to bend it to your will. And thats whats so great about this app—it hearkens back to the days when your software didnt try to tell you how to think and what your imagination should look like. This app provides a framework; what you build with it is more up to you than it even first appears. For example, I just learned that I could add a second column to my todo list, and the second column can be a pop-up menu with tags that I create, so I can sort/understand my tasks according to the type of mindset Im going to need to complete them.
Bluetooth keyboard support on iPad is extensive! I can really work with this app comfortably on iOS; it doesnt feel like a cramped compromise.
Ive fiddled around with Omnifocus too, but honestly this is better, because its simpler, more direct, and tries to do less thinking for me. I spend more time with the textual content of my thoughts, and less time tweaking systems and settings and GTD-fetish nonsense.
ONE DEMERIT: The sync feature (OmniSync) is a little wonky and glitchy at times. you have to kind of know how to finesse it, and that can be nerve-wracking. its subtleties and sometimes non-obvious rules require more than an optimal amount of mental overload. I cant quite bring myself to dock a whole star off the review though--I dont feel like data loss is imminent. its just a bit of a PITA.
