Why text expander?

Why does every developer feel the need to add text expander to their app? Seems pointless, given its already a function of the native apple keyboard, modifiable in settings. Syncs across icloud to. Honestly, I regret the $30 I spent on the desktop version of text expander. Much more interested in seeing an iPhone/iPod app from omni for this app.

Also think it would be awesome if omni offered a subscription option for their apps, like todoist does. All platforms, one price, 1 year of service. Instead of buying new iterations on every single platform every other year... Nudge nudge wink wink
